Spend a few hours in the kitchen with your Ghanaian cooking instructor and explore the exotic flavours of Ghana using traditional cooking methods. Learn to prepare authentic dishes like Red Red, Waakye, or Jollof, as well as Banku or Fufu with either palm nut soup, ground nut soup or light soup (beef, chicken, fish, goat or vegetarian). Your full-course meal includes a favourite Ghanaian dessert called Abele Walls for an ultimate culinary climax.
Your half-day culinary experience begins at 10:30 am in Accra to meet your guide at Oxford Street Mall. Alternatively, you may meet your guide at a location of your choice at 10:00 am. The choice is yours to begin by shopping in the market, or head straight to the kitchen. The market visit allows you to enjoy the bustle of vendors and local shoppers, and learn how to select the best ingredients for your meal.
Auntie K will welcome you to her kitchen and teach you proper traditional Ghanaian cooking. Dishes to prepare can include jollof rice, banku, or fufu with your choice of soup, red red, waakye, or any other local meal (select two dishes). Complete your meal by making abele walls, a favourite Ghanaian frozen dessert. Relax and enjoy the authentic Ghanaian meal you have just created! Your tour concludes at your starting point after approximately 4 1/2 hours.
