Meet your guide at 8:30 AM and depart on guided tour of Accra. Visit to Kwame Nkrumah Monument, Independence Square, Makola Market, historic Jamestown, W.E.B. Du Bois Center, fashionable Oxford Street in Osu.

Day 3: Aburi Gardens & Craft Market, Bead Factory, Adomi Bridge
Depart for Aburi Botanical Gardens and Aburi craft market. Stop at a bead workshop near the Volta River to watch this interesting handcraft. Walk across Ghana’s only steel arch bridge. Motorboat on the Volta River.

Day 4: Manhyia Palace, Akwasidae Festival, Kejetia Market
Manhyia Palace, home of the Ashanti king, and the Komfo Anokye Sword. Drumming, dance and a colorful procession of chiefs at the Akwasidae festival. Experience at West Africa’s largest outdoor market. (Fewer sellers on Sunday).

Day 5: Ashanti Craft Villages, Cocoa Farm
Morning depart to visit craft villages around Kumasi showcasing traditional crafts:
- Kente cloth weaving
- Adinkra cloth stamping
- Wood carving
Visit a cocoa farm in the village. Try some palm wine!

Day 6: Bobiri Forest, Butterfly Sanctuary, Ashanti Shrine House
Late afternoon hike at the Bobiri forest reserve and butterfly sanctuary. This is Africa’s only butterfly sanctuary, which contains many native species of trees. Visit one of the last Ashanti traditional buildings, the Yaw Tano at Besease.

Day 7: Slave Cemetery, Cape Coast Castle, Beach
Follow the slave trail to the coast, stopping at a former slave market and cemetery. Tour the World Heritage site and former slave dungeon of Cape Coast castle. Those of the Diaspora may have a “Door of Return” ceremony at the castle.

Day 8: Kakum National Park, Crocodiles, Central Elmina
Morning visit to the rain forest canopy walkway at Kakum National Park. Visit nearby crocodile ponds. Visit central Elmina to see the busy fishing lagoon and take the grand walkway to hilltop Ft. San Jago. Return to your beach resort.

An entire day to attend the Chale Wote Street Art Festival in Jamestown. Chale Wote, which means “Hey, Let’s Go!” has grown into a massive event bringing art, music, dance, and performance onto the streets. A wonderful, meaningful opportunity for local and international artists and patrons to create and appreciate a wide array of art.
Return to your hotel for a quick refresh, before heading off to a rooftop bar and enjoy your final evening with lively nightlife in Osu.

There is time for some last-minute shopping or exploring in your favourite Accra neighbourhood. Enjoy some spontaneous socializing in an undiscovered neighbourhood for a peek at our local life. Drop by a typical family compound, and receive a traditional blessing for your safe journey home.

Three Festivals Tour of Ghana
Your fun-filled 12-day experience begins in Accra, where your Experience Curator will meet your arriving flight at Kotaka International Airport.
