Ashanti Villages
Visit one of the last remaining traditional Abosomfie shrine homes at Besease.
Tour a number of villages showcasing traditional Asante handcrafts: Kente cloth weaving, Adinkra cloth stamping, wood carving.
Visit a cocoa farm.
Kumasi
Morning visit the National Cultural Center, one of Ghana’s best museums.
Home of the Ashanti King, Manhyia Palace, and the Komfo Anokye Sword.
Enjoy a shopping experience at West Africa’s largest outdoor market, the vast Kejetia market.
Cape Coast Castle
Follow the former slave route to Cape Coast, stopping at the Slave River at Assin Manso. This sacred space was site of the last bath before arrival at Cape Coast.
Touring the dungeons at Cape Coast Castle is a horrifying reminder of the brutal 400 years of slave trading.
